College During a Quarantine

Like everyone these days, I am in quarantine and have been feeling a bit stir crazy. One of the best things about being locked away safe in my house is that I am a student and still have things to do to keep me busy! This is one of the times that having online classes really pays off. I can study on my own time and turn things in whenever I’d like (as long as it’s before the due date, of course).

If you’re just starting to think about college this is a great time to really start doing some research! If you’re wondering where to start, check out: Things I wish I’d known as a new college student and Paying off student loans: What happens when college is overpriced and your future career is underpaid? They are a couple of pages I have written previously which will get you started in your college endeavors. But if you are already in college and are wondering how to go from here, read on.

Of course, it is important to take time for yourself. Make sure you are eating right, trying to get in some exercise, and getting a normal amount of sleep. I know that those things are all a little iffy right now, with the store shelves being bare in some spots, the lack of gym access, and the close proximity of your comfy bed. Try to squeeze those fruits and veggies in. I know it can be difficult to exercise but what I have tried to do is to run up and down the stairs inside my apartment, I have used towels under my feet while in a planking position and then did mountain climbers. And I have tried to make sure that I am doing at least 20 minutes of yoga a day- easy to do on YouTube! Be sure to keep your schedule as normal as possible. Try to go to bed at a normal time and set your alarm so you’re still getting up early in the morning. These things may seem trivial, but it will help to have a more normal schedule and keep you from getting too off track- which will make getting back to normal after quarantine even more difficult.

If you are not yet a college student and are thinking about earning your degree, this is a great time to really search your feelings and figure out what you’re wanting from life and then do what you can to make it happen! Hopefully my blog can help you along the way.

As always, if you have any questions at all, please leave a comment below and I will be happy to make a post about your topic! Try to stay sane in these odd times! Even if that means telling ghost stories at night in your bathroom with your cat!
